The Toyota Corolla Cross was introduced as a new model for 2022. The follow-up for 2023 brings with it a new hybrid powertrain, several new trim levels and the all-new Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 suite.
The L, LE and XLE have a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that makes 169 horsepower and 151 pound-feet of torque. Front-wheel drive is standard. All-wheel drive is optional, and the engine is paired with a continuously variable transmission in either case. The S, SE and XSE have the CVT but are exclusively offered as all-wheel-drive vehicles. They also have a hybrid powertrain that pairs the 2.0-liter four-cylinder with three electric motors to make 196 hp while providing better fuel performance.
The current-generation Corolla Cross has been selected as an IIHS Top Safety Pick+. An 8-inch infotainment touch screen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay is standard. Every 2023 Toyota Corolla Cross also has Toyota Safety Sense 3.0, which includes connected services, a rearview camera, adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking and much more. Beyond the base trim, you also get blind-spot monitoring, and the top trims have parking sensors and rear automatic braking.
Toyota’s Smart Key system with remote keyless entry and push-button start is included with the new Toyota Corolla Cross near Boston beyond the base trim. All trim levels provide you access to Remote Connect, which lets you start and otherwise access your vehicle through your phone or other device.
