For the 2026 model year, Toyota has introduced significant enhancements to its all-electric SUV, starting with its new name: the bZ. Building on the foundation of the bZ4X, the 2026 bZ features key updates aimed at improving range, convenience, and charging speed. A new battery system not only offers increased range but also enables faster DC charging, especially in colder temperatures—a crucial benefit for New England winters.

Key updates include:

• A dual-voltage charging cable is now standard for both trim levels, supporting Level 1 and Level 2 charging at home.
• The instrument panel now displays the battery’s state-of-charge (SOC) percentage while charging, along with the estimated charging time to reach 80%.
• Front-wheel-drive models receive a redesigned rear fascia with new red taillamps, while All-wheel-drive models feature a new black-colored rear spoiler.
